The newly appointed Chairman of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) Plc, Sulaiman Argungu, has assumed office at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, calling for stronger collaboration to enhance Nigeria’s electricity sector.
Mr. Argungu, who also serves as the National Organizing Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was received at the office alongside party leaders.
A statement issued Wednesday by his Special Assistant, Sani Galadima, noted that the reception was attended by the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Johnson Akinnawo, along with NBET board members and senior management staff.
During the visit, Mr. Akinnawo introduced the new chairman to staff, highlighting NBET’s crucial role in maintaining a stable and efficient electricity trading framework. He assured that efforts were underway to improve the country’s power sector.
In his remarks, Mr. Argungu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to collaborate with the board and management to enhance electricity trading and supply. He stressed the importance of stakeholder cooperation in advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and ensuring sustainable progress in the sector.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to policies that promote stability, transparency, and innovation in electricity trading, with a particular focus on renewable energy solutions.
