Renowned Nigerian gospel singer and ordained pastor, Bolaji Olarewaju, popularly known as Big Bolaji or Big B, has passed away.
The singer’s family in a statement, disclosed that he died on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a brief illness
The statement reads, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as ‘Big B’.”
“A cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in the church and music community, Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday after a short illness.”
The deceased’s family said his funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
Big Bolaji who recently marked his 50th birthday, began his music career with the gospel group J’apha and later became a respected solo artist and radio talk show host.
His spiritual journey began at The Sword of the Spirit Ministries under Bishop Francis Wale Oke. He later became an ordained minister in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), serving in ministry for over 19 years.
Big Bolaji was also the founder and host of the annual gospel concert “Turn It Up With Big Bolaji” in Ibadan
