ABUJA, Nigeria — The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Pastor Bolaji Idowu, founder of Harvesters International Christian Centre, for alleged involvement in real estate fraud and money laundering.
Sources revealed that Pastor Idowu, known for leading the “Next Level Prayer Conference,” is currently being interrogated by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.
“Pastor Bolaji Idowu has been taken into custody by the police and is being grilled over allegations of real estate fraud and money laundering,” a source familiar with the matter told reporters.
Harvesters International Christian Centre, established in 2003, is one of Nigeria’s prominent religious organizations. Idowu has gained recognition for his prayer conferences and motivational teachings.
Another insider confirmed the pastor’s detention. “He is at the FCID Abuja as we speak,” the source said.
Attempts to obtain official confirmation from the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, and the FCT police command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful, as both declined to comment on the case.
The allegations against Pastor Idowu have raised questions within the community, where he is widely regarded as a spiritual leader. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities yet to release a formal statement on the matter.
