Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko Alleges Wife Regina Daniels Battles Addiction Amid Abuse Claims

ABUJA, Nigeria (Chatnewstv.com) — Nigerian Sen. Ned Nwoko has publicly alleged that his wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, is struggling with substance and alcohol addiction, a claim he made in response to a viral video in which Daniels accused him of domestic violence.

The marital crisis escalated over the weekend after a video surfaced Saturday showing a distraught Daniels tearfully alleging mistreatment.

“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen,” Daniels said in the clip, which has drawn widespread concern on social media. “Not again, I cannot stand the violence, it is too much.”

In a response posted to the social media platform X, Nwoko denied the abuse allegations, claiming his wife’s behavior stems from a battle with addiction.

“Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem,” Nwoko wrote. “Regina was not always like this.”

The senator, who represents Delta North, alleged that Daniels recently relocated to a place that gives her “unrestricted access to drugs,” leading to erratic and violent behavior.

“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence,” Nwoko stated. “Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting three staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause.”

Nwoko said he has given his wife an ultimatum to seek treatment.

“The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, especially Jordan, where she will not have access to drugs,” he wrote.

He further accused two individuals, identified only as Sammy and Ann, of being his wife’s drug suppliers. He concluded by expressing concern for her well-being, stating, “She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety.”
