TOKYO (CHATNEWSTV) — Nissan, Honda, and Mitsubishi Motors have scrapped their memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore a three-way collaboration, the companies announced Thursday.
The decision follows the termination of a separate MOU, signed in December, that considered a business integration between Nissan and Honda.
Despite ending formal talks on a tripartite structure, the automakers said they would continue working together under a strategic partnership focused on intelligent and electrified vehicles.
“This partnership remains essential as we strive to create new value and maximize corporate growth,” the companies said in a joint statement.
The collaboration framework was originally established with an MOU signed on August 1, 2024.
