NLC President Honors Police Invitation, Amidst Heavy Security

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, honored a police invitation on Thursday, August 29, over allegations of terrorism financing, treason, and other charges.

Ajaero arrived at the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office at Old Abattoir, Guzape Junction, Abuja, at around 10:20 a.m., accompanied by renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN).

In response to the police summons, the NLC had earlier directed its members to embark on a nationwide solidarity march in support of their President. Leaders and members of the NLC began gathering at the union’s headquarters in Abuja as early as 8:00 a.m. before proceeding on the march.

To maintain order, a heavy police presence was stationed a few meters away from the NLC building.
