Number injured after attack in Munich rises to 39

Agency Report –

Following the attack on a trade union rally in the southern German city of Munich, the number of injured has now reached at least 39, according to the latest figures from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office and the police.

Since Friday morning, more victims have reportedly come forward, they said.

There had previously been confusion over the number of victims, after the figure of 36 injured was reported alongside the accusation of 39 attempted murders.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is in the city for the Munich Security Conference, was expected to visit the site where a 24-year-old man intentionally slammed his car into a crowd of trade union demonstrators.
