Paul Pogba is back in professional football, having signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco following the expiration of his doping suspension.
The French midfielder, who has been out of action since 2023, joins the Ligue 1 outfit as a free agent.
Monaco confirmed the signing on Saturday, marking a fresh chapter for the 2018 World Cup winner whose recent years have been marred by injuries and disciplinary issues.
It wrote, “AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of Paul Pogba.”
“The French World Champion has signed a two-season deal, having signed with the Principality until 30 June 2027.”
Pogba, once a teenage prodigy at Manchester United, rejoined Juventus in 2022 for a second spell but his return was cut short after testing positive for a banned substance, resulting in a four-year ban.
However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later reduced the ban to 18 months.
The 32-year-old’s contract with Juventus was terminated during the suspension period, leaving him clubless until Monaco moved to secure his services.
