Peter Obi Extols Former President Obasanjo on 87th Birthday

Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last election, extended warm felicitations to Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on his 87th birthday. Obi joined President Obasanjo in his birthday thanksgiving service at the chapel of Christ The Glorious King, OOPL, Abeokuta, marking the commencement of the former president’s 87th birthday celebrations.

Describing Obasanjo as a true patriot, Obi emphasized the former president’s unwavering commitment to the nation’s development and progress. He expressed delight in celebrating the revered Nigerian leader, acknowledging Obasanjo’s significant contributions to the nation.

“I was delighted to celebrate with this very revered Nigerian who has contributed immeasurably to the growth of our nation. His love for the nation is very evident in his firm commitment to the unity and peace of our dear nation,” Obi remarked.

Obi praised Obasanjo for his leadership, noting the positive transformations he engineered and the sound economic foundation he left behind. He lamented the current state of affairs in the nation, suggesting that adherence to Obasanjo’s economic policies could have averted the current challenges.

“With our dear nation going through very challenging times, occasioned by leadership failure, President Obasanjo has continued to courageously add his voice to demand good governance in the country. He not only speaks, but he takes actions to ensure that our nation is saved from further chaos,” Obi stated.

As a father figure and mentor in transformational leadership, Obasanjo has inspired the younger generation, Obi emphasized, expressing his delight in celebrating the former president’s life and achievements. He concluded by praying for Obasanjo’s continued health and fruitful years, as he continues to contribute to the nation’s development through his immeasurable efforts.

In the midst of Nigeria’s current trials, Obi’s tribute stands as a reminder of the enduring influence and leadership of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, particularly in shaping the trajectory of the nation’s progress.
