ABUJA (CHATNEWSTV) — President Bola Tinubu has promoted his Aide-de-Camp (ADC), Lieutenant Colonel Nurudeen Yusuf, to the rank of Colonel. The promotion ceremony took place Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Yusuf’s wife, and other dignitaries in attendance.
Lt. Col. Yusuf, who was appointed as President Tinubu’s ADC in April 2023 ahead of the president’s inauguration, has had a distinguished military career.
Yusuf’s military education includes an Ordinary National Diploma in Computer Science from Offa Polytechnic, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Electrical-Electronics Engineering from the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna. In 2004, he attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, where he was commissioned into the Nigerian Army Officers Cadre.
He continued his training with specialized courses in intelligence and security, attending the Nigerian Army Intelligence School in Lagos in 2006, and completing several international military courses in countries including Mali, Pakistan, China, Israel, and the UK. In 2018, he earned a Master’s degree in Defence Studies from King’s College London.
Throughout his career, Yusuf has held key military roles, including Officer-in-Charge (Technical) for the 119 Intelligence Group, Operations Officer for the 4 Brigade HQ in Benin, and Officer Commanding the State House Military Intelligence Group. He also served as Officer Commanding the Presidential Body Guard and held several senior staff positions.
Before his appointment as ADC to President Tinubu, Yusuf was stationed at the Nigerian Defence Section in Paris, France, between 2020 and 2022. His promotion to Colonel reflects his years of dedicated service in the Nigerian Army.
