ABUJA (ChatnewsTV) — A planned cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do little to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerians, according to New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain, Buba Galadima.
In a candid interview monitored by ChatnewsTV on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday, Galadima dismissed the reshuffle as a superficial move meant only to benefit political cronies.
“The planned cabinet reshuffle has nothing to do with me or any Nigerian. What is of importance to all of us is bringing down the harsh conditions of living, and the buck stops only on the table of one man. That is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Galadima said during the interview. He added that any reshuffle would merely be “a job for the boys.”
The presidency had signaled the possibility of a cabinet shake-up on September 25, when Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that the president intended to make changes to his team. While some have welcomed the potential move, Galadima remains skeptical that it will address the worsening economic situation.
“No amount of reshuffling can make a difference,” Galadima stated. “As far as that team is only a ‘job for the boys,’ nothing will come out of it. Anybody that calls himself president or governor is responsible for their cabinet’s performance.”
The outspoken NNPP leader further urged Tinubu to tackle more pressing issues, such as Nigeria’s foreign exchange crisis, which has led to the naira’s sharp decline in value. “I expected him to do better than this and to hit the ground running,” he said.
