WASHINGTON (CHATNEWSTV) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday held a joint call with several European foreign ministers to discuss efforts toward a ceasefire and a lasting peace in Ukraine, the State Department said.
According to a readout from spokesperson Tammy Bruce, Rubio spoke with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and European Union High Representative Kaja Kallas.
“The leaders discussed the way forward for a ceasefire and path to peace in Ukraine,” Bruce said in a statement released by the Office of the Spokesperson.
No further details were provided about specific proposals or next steps, but the call underscores ongoing diplomatic efforts by Western allies to end the conflict, now in its third year.
