LAGOS, Nigeria (Chatnewstv.com) — Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Team Brazil for emerging victorious at the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, describing the event as a milestone for the city’s innovation and global reputation.
“Congratulations to Team Brazil, and to Timmy Hansen and Leva Millere-Hagin, for a well-deserved victory after an exciting weekend of racing on our waters at the E1 Lagos GP,” Sanwo-Olu said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

The governor said the E1 Lagos Grand Prix went beyond competition, symbolizing Lagos’ growing commitment to clean energy, innovation, and sustainable urban development.

“Beyond the competition, the E1 Lagos GP represented our city’s commitment to innovation, clean energy, and sustainable development,” he said. “It was inspiring to see Lagos take its place on the global stage as a city that embraces progress and possibility.”

Sanwo-Olu praised the organizers and Lagos residents for their role in hosting the world’s first all-electric powerboat race in Africa, adding that the success of the event reinforces confidence in the city’s vision for a modern and sustainable future.
