The State Security Service, SSS, has confirmed the arrest of some tailors responsible for sewing Russian flags for #Endbadgovernance protesters in Kano State.
Earlier, a large number of #Endbadgovernance protesters were seen in Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina hoisting Russian flags during processions.
The incident sparked concern about the motives of the protesters.
However, in a statement issued on his X handle on Monday, the SSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said some of their sponsors were also arrested and currently undergoing interrogation.
Meanwhile, the service has denied arresting one of the promoters of the #endbadgovernance protest, Adaramoye Michael, [aka Michael Lenin].
The activist was reportedly picked up at his residence in Abuja around 2: a.m. on Monday.
Refuting the allegations, Mr Afunanya said: “The DSS can confirm that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin) is not in its custody.
“Meanwhile, the Service has apprehended some tailors in Kano State responsible for making the Russian flags being distributed in the area. Some of their sponsors have also been picked. Investigation is ongoing.”
