LONDON—British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday ahead of the U.S.-Ukraine dialogue in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the UK’s commitment to a lasting peace.
According to a statement from Downing Street, Mr. Starmer told Mr. Trump that UK officials had been in talks with their Ukrainian counterparts over the weekend and remained committed to efforts toward stability.
“The Prime Minister said he hoped there would be a positive outcome to the talks that would enable U.S. aid and intelligence sharing to be restarted,” the statement read.
The leaders also discussed an economic deal previously negotiated at the White House.
“The Prime Minister welcomed the detailed conversations that had already happened to move this forward,” the statement added.
Both leaders agreed to stay in touch.
