The Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the 2024 Olympic in Paris after playing out a goalless draw with South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in Pretoria on Tuesday evening.
The Falcons entered the game with an advantage, having secured a 1-0 victory at home in Abuja.
Though, the South Africans aimed to recover this time, dominating possession early in the match.
Despite this, as the first half progressed, the visitors gained momentum, pushing forward into threatening areas.
In the second half, Desiree Ellis’ team intensified their pressure but lacked clinical finishing in crucial areas.
With the final whistle blown, the 1-0 slim edge gained by the nine-time African champions last Friday was enough to see them through to the Games.
