STOCKHOLM (Chatnewstv.com) — Sweden summoned Russia’s ambassador on Friday to protest what it called indiscriminate attacks against Ukrainian cities that left civilians dead and damaged diplomatic offices.
“The ambassador was summoned in order for Sweden to take a clear stance against Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s cities and civilian population,” the Swedish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said the strikes on Aug. 28 damaged the offices of the European Union delegation and the British Council in Kyiv.
“Russia’s responsibility to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure in accordance with international humanitarian law was reiterated to the Russian ambassador during the meeting,” the statement said.
