Senator Shehu Sani has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of evenly spreading poverty in Nigeria.
Senator Sani made the accusation on his Twitter handle, @ShehuSani, on Wednesday.
In the tweet, Shehu Sani noted that poverty was once exclusive to the North but that the Nigerian Government is making sure that poverty is evenly spread across the country.
He tweeted:
“Poverty used to be exclusively for the North; now the Government is making sure there is even spread, and no section of the country is marginalised.”
Reacting to the remarks, another Twitter user, @June12Post, noted a similarity between poverty under President Tinubu and insecurity under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The tweep, who noted that insecurity and poverty may be a “policy of non-marginalisation” of the All Progressives Congress (APC), added that the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) “have produced demons for everyone”.
He said:
“Buhari met violence & terrorism ONLY in northeast, he made sure he spread throughout the country b4 he left, Tinubu met poverty in the NORTH, he is now making sure it is spread countrywide. Really a policy of non-marginalisation. APC @OfficialAPCNg & INEC @inecnigeria have produced demons for everyone.”
Meanwhile, in an earlier tweet, Senator Sani took a jibe at the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi.
In an apparent joke while wishing Peter Obi a happy 62nd birthday, he advised him to instruct his tailor to remove pockets from his attire since he does not use it.
Sani made the remarks evidently over Obi’s mantra that ‘he does not give shi-shi’.
He tweeted:
“Happy 62nd Birthday to my friend @PeterObi. Your Excellency, pls tell your tailor to remove pockets from your attire since you don’t use it.”
Peter Obi, it could be noted, has always insisted on his police of not giving out money, or bribe, to curry favour or obtain a privileged position.
