ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi over the death of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, describing her as a pillar of community service.
In a statement issued Thursday by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended the late matriarch’s dedication to philanthropy and urged her family to honor her memory by continuing her charitable works.
“Hajiya Maryam’s selfless service to her community remains a shining example,” Tinubu said. “I encourage her family to immortalize her by ensuring that her legacy of kindness and service endures.”
Hajiya Maryam passed away on December 25 and was buried the same day in Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The president also offered words of comfort to Governor Namadi and other members of the family, urging them to draw strength from the good name she left behind.
“May the enduring values she instilled in her family continue to inspire all who knew her,” Tinubu said.
