ABUJA, Nigeria (Chatnewstv.com) — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reinstated the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, and the Executive Director of News, Ayo Adewuyi, reversing recent management changes at Africa’s largest television network.
Dembos, who was first appointed in October 2023, will return to complete his three-year tenure as head of the state broadcaster. Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, will also resume his role to finish his term, which ends in 2027.
In a statement released on Tuesday by presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga, the presidency said: “The President directed the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos … He will now return to complete his three-year tenure. The President similarly directed the recall of Mr. Ayo Adewuyi … to complete his three-year tenure, which ends in 2027.”
The decision nullifies earlier appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
