PLANO, Texas (May 16, 2025) — Toyota is making a bold visual statement with the introduction of “Wave Maker,” a new exclusive color for its 2026 TRD Pro lineup.
Set to debut on the TRD Pro versions of the 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia, Wave Maker is a vivid blue shade designed to evoke “glacial depths and the thrill of new frontiers,” according to Toyota’s CALTY Design team.
“We had a few years of warm natural hues inspired by traditional landscapes like Terra and Mudbath,” said Benjamin Jimenez, general manager at CALTY’s Ann Arbor studio. “With Wave Maker, we were inspired by unexplored areas of adventure including extreme territory and even beyond Earth.”
Wave Maker is the latest in a series of signature TRD Pro colors, continuing a tradition that began in 2015 with the launch of the fiery orange “Inferno.” The color will be available exclusively on TRD Pro models, which are expected to arrive at dealerships in fall 2025.
The 2026 launch also reinforces Toyota’s long-standing presence in the U.S. automotive market. The company employs nearly 48,000 people in the United States and has built more than 35 million vehicles at its 11 domestic manufacturing plants. Toyota’s North Carolina facility will begin producing automotive batteries this spring, further expanding its footprint in the electric vehicle sector.
Toyota currently offers 32 electrified vehicle options more than any other automaker and is pushing forward with its Driving Possibilities education initiative, aimed at underserved communities near its U.S. operations.
