WASHINGTON, Oct. 10, 2025 (Chatnewstv.com) — U.S. President Donald J. Trump said on Friday that the United States will impose a 100 percent tariff on all Chinese imports starting November 1, in response to what he described as an “extraordinarily aggressive” trade move by Beijing.
In a statement posted on his official Truthsocial account, Trump said China had sent “an extremely hostile letter to the World,” announcing plans to enforce large-scale export controls on “virtually every product they make, and some not even made by them.”
Calling the move “unheard of in international trade” and a “moral disgrace in dealing with other nations,” Trump said the decision by China affects all countries without exception and was “obviously a plan devised by them years ago.”
“Based on the fact that China has taken this unprecedented position, and speaking only for the U.S.A., starting November 1, 2025 — or sooner, depending on any further actions or changes taken by China — the United States of America will impose a tariff of 100% on China, over and above any tariff that they are currently paying,” Trump said.
He added that Washington will also introduce export controls on “any and all critical software.”
“It is impossible to believe that China would have taken such an action, but they have, and the rest is history,” the president said.
Trump’s announcement marks a sharp escalation in trade tensions between Washington and Beijing, raising concerns among global markets and international partners about the potential for widespread economic fallout.
