WASHINGTON — The Trump administration has appointed Massad Boulos as Senior Advisor for Africa, adding to his existing role as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs.
Boulos, alongside Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Corina Sanders, will embark on a diplomatic tour of Central and East Africa starting April 3. The delegation is set to visit the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda, engaging with regional leaders and business executives.
The visit aims to bolster U.S. efforts toward lasting peace in eastern DRC and expand private sector investments across the region.
Massad Boulos is a Lebanese American businessman who is the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter Tiffany.
“We remain committed to fostering stability and economic opportunities in Africa,” a State Department spokesperson said.
