WASHINGTON (Chatnewstv.com) — The United States deepened its economic and security partnerships with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan this week, announcing commercial agreements worth more than $14 billion across critical sectors including aerospace, energy, and key minerals.
Following meetings at the White House on November 6, President Donald J. Trump and his counterparts, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, celebrated the expansion of commercial ties designed to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and secure supply chains.
Uzbekistan Commits to $8.5 Billion in Boeing Jets
The largest agreements came from Uzbekistan, which announced its willingness to invest billions in the United States. The cornerstone deal involves a massive purchase of U.S. commercial passenger jets.
Uzbekistan signed contracts to purchase 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft altogether worth $8.5 billion. The White House stated this demonstrates Uzbekistan’s confidence in U.S. aerospace technology and supports American jobs.
Beyond aviation, Uzbekistan made major commitments across its industrial sector:
Energy: A commitment to purchase small modular reactors (SMRs) from U.S. energy companies.
Agriculture: Up to a $2 billion commitment to import U.S. agricultural machinery, alongside imports of up to two million tons of U.S. soybeans and 100,000 tons of U.S. cotton over the next three years.
Automotive: Import of $5 billion in automotive parts over the next three years.
Investment: Up to a $3 billion investment from U.S.-based Air Products for a methanol production facility in Uzbekistan.
The nation also focused on securing critical mineral supply chains, agreeing to provide U.S. companies with mining rights of first refusal on co-developed deposits and up to a $400 million investment to strengthen rare earths supply chains.
In a move to facilitate stronger people-to-people ties, Uzbekistan announced 30-day visa-free travel for U.S. citizens starting in 2026.
Tajikistan Secures $3 Billion in U.S. Deals
The United States also celebrated commercial deals with U.S. and Tajik companies worth more than $3 billion, expected to support thousands of American jobs.
Aviation: Tajikistan announced it would purchase Boeing aircraft and aviation support systems worth a combined $3.2 billion, supporting 11,480 American jobs.
Digital Modernization: Tajikistan formalized partnerships and licensing agreements with Starlink to advance digital infrastructure. The nation also announced collaborations with U.S. firms like Perplexity AI, SuperMicro, and Cerebris to develop trusted-vendor AI infrastructure for AI Data Centers, powered by Tajikistan’s commitment of 1 GW of hydropower. This is intended to position Tajikistan as a regional hub for high-speed AI services.
Critical Minerals: Tajikistan signed agreements worth $32.5 million with Transparent Earth for technical assistance and remote sensing capabilities in its mining sector.
Both Central Asian nations committed to strengthening security cooperation, with Uzbekistan and the U.S. agreeing to share law enforcement information to combat international criminal organizations and drug cartels.
