WASHINGTON — The United States is sanctioning the Foxtrot Network, a transnational criminal organization, and its fugitive leader, Rawa Majid, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced today.
“The Foxtrot Network has long been a notorious criminal group based in Sweden, involved in violent activities including drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and contributing to rising violence in Northern Europe,” Rubio stated. “This sanctioning is an essential step in countering the group’s destabilizing activities and holding accountable those responsible.”
The Foxtrot Network has been implicated in a series of violent acts, including shootings, contract killings, and assaults. The group is also linked to attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets across Europe, most notably the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm in January 2024. Majid is known to have coordinated efforts with the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security, a body already sanctioned by the United States.
The U.S. Department of State, alongside the Department of the Treasury, will continue to target and impose costs on the Iranian regime and its affiliates as part of the Trump Administration’s renewed “maximum pressure” campaign.
“Today’s action highlights our commitment to confront the Iranian regime’s malign activities and prevent those who support them from undermining U.S. and global security,” Rubio added.
The Foxtrot Network is sanctioned under Executive Order (E.O.) 13581, amended by E.O. 13863, for being a significant transnational criminal organization. Majid is sanctioned for his direct or indirect actions on behalf of the group. As a result, all property and interests in property belonging to the designated individuals are blocked in the United States or under U.S. jurisdiction.
