WASHINGTON (CHATNEWSTV) — U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kenya on the occasion of their 61st Independence Day, known as Jamhuri Day, on December 12, 2024.
On behalf of the American people, Blinken celebrated Kenya’s achievements and underscored the strong partnership between the two nations. “Today, we celebrate our mutual commitment to leading democracies that deliver prosperity, security, and opportunity for our people,” Blinken said in a press statement.
Blinken highlighted Kenya’s leadership in several key areas, including climate solutions, trade, digital technology, and efforts to address global peace and security challenges. “It was an honor to host Kenya this summer for a State Visit, which afforded an unprecedented opportunity to uplift our enduring people-to-people partnership,” he added.
Looking ahead, Blinken expressed optimism about the future of U.S.-Kenya relations. “I look forward to the next 60 years of our partnership,” he said, wishing the people of Kenya a joyous celebration.
