USA star Jerzy Robinson takes TISSOT MVP award

LEON (Mexico) – Jerzy Robinson had cause for a double celebration after being crowned TISSOT MVP at the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2024, as she added to her winners’ medal.

A centerpiece of the flawless USA team that went unbeaten and finished with an 84-64 success against Canada, the guard enhanced her glowing reputation. Dropping 25 points in the Final, Robinson averaged 20.9 per game across the competition, as well as 6.9 rebounds.

She was joined in the All-Star Five lineup by her teammate McKenna Woliczko, who was excellent in the Final itself, having equaled the USA rebounding record in the Semi-Finals. She averaged an eye-catching 12.4 points and 9.6 rebounds.

While Agot Makeer didn’t get a gold medal hung around her neck, she inspired Canada to their best ever finish and richly deserved a spot. The guard racked up a super average of 17.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.3 assists per game.

Sara Okeke landed in Mexico with big things expected of her and didn’t disappoint. The Spanish center lived up to the billing as she helped her team to the third step of the podium, averaging 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots.
