Vice President Kashim Kicks Off Sweden Visit with Business Forum in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM — Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, commenced his official visit to Sweden with a high-level business forum at Epicenter, Stockholm, aimed at strengthening economic ties and exploring investment opportunities between both nations.

The Vice President was welcomed by Edgar Luczak, Chairman, Partner & Head of Advisory at Epicenter, and Jack Melcher-Claësson, Head of Accelerate at Epicenter. During the forum, major Swedish companies and institutions expressed keen interest in deepening their investments in Nigeria.

Key participants included the Swedish Export Credit Agency, Swedfund, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), International Council of Swedish Industry, Business Sweden, SchoolTry, SKF Group, Arla Foods, and technology giants Ericsson and Elekta. These entities are exploring potential investments in Nigeria’s infrastructure, technology, and industrial sectors.

Vice President Kashim is accompanied by Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani; and Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, among other officials.

The visit is expected to pave the way for enhanced bilateral trade and technological cooperation between Nigeria and Sweden.
