Adanma Joseph, one of the suspects, corroborated the police’s account of the events that transpired. She disclosed that they had attempted to steal from the deceased, Mr. Adeniyi Ojo, who had sought to engage in a sexual encounter with them.
The initial plan was to entice the victim into engaging in sexual activity in his car, with the belief that they would find money inside. However, according to her narrative, circumstances took a tragic turn when they ended up in a room, where they tied the deceased on the pretence of having a sex rump.
In an attempt to prevent him from raising an alarm, they initially covered his mouth with a handkerchief, but this was met with resistance. The report by the girl has it that they subsequently covered his mouth with a pillow, which ultimately resulted in his death. Notably, the suspects claimed that they were unaware of his death when they departed, as they believed he was feigning sleep.
