DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Vista, the world’s largest private aviation group, announced a landmark fleet expansion agreement with Bombardier on Wednesday, placing a firm order for 40 Challenger 3500 aircraft with options for 120 more.
The deal, valued at several billion dollars based on list prices, secures Vista’s operational capacity for the next decade. Deliveries are scheduled to begin immediately in 2026, with the aircraft being phased into service to meet surging global demand for the company’s subscription-based flight programs.
The move consolidates Vista’s super-midsize fleet onto a single platform, a strategy designed to streamline maintenance and pilot training while providing a uniform cabin experience for its VistaJet and XO members.
“This agreement is about leadership, preparedness and client experience,” said Thomas Flohr, Founder and Chairman of Vista. “We are continuing to build the fleet our Members will rely on over the next decade, not reacting to short-term cycles, but investing with clarity, scale and discipline.”
The announcement follows a period of aggressive growth for the Dubai-headquartered group. In 2025, Vista reported a 12% increase in its “Program” membership base and a 16% rise in live flight hours year-over-year. While the United States and Europe remain Vista’s primary markets, the company saw significant gains in emerging regions, including a 32% jump in flight hours in the Middle East.
The Challenger 3500 is marketed as the most technologically advanced aircraft in its class, featuring voice-controlled cabin systems and “Nuage” zero-gravity seating. For Vista, the aircraft acts as the backbone of its “silver with a red stripe” global fleet.
Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier, noted that the scale of the order underscores the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
“This significant order is a testament to how well this aircraft serves our customers, delivering the perfect balance of cutting-edge technology, exceptional comfort, and proven value,” Martel said. “We are proud that our relationship will further deepen through this significant order.”
By securing 160 potential aircraft, Vista aims to maintain its position as a dominant, asset-light provider in an industry that has faced supply chain constraints and high barriers to entry since the post-pandemic travel boom.
