ABUJA, Nigeria (ChatnewsTV) — The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an alleged internet fraudster accused of confining a young woman for money rituals, officials said Thursday.
The suspect was apprehended by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), but authorities are awaiting a formal handover to the police, according to FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh.
“A video clip capturing a young lady confined in a room with her legs tied emerged on social media,” Adeh said in a statement. The incident allegedly took place at Top View Hotel, Wuse, Abuja, where the woman was reportedly held by her boyfriend for ritual purposes.
“Findings revealed that the NSCDC has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand him over to the police for diligent investigation,” Adeh added. “The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for the commencement of diligent and discreet investigation.”
