Police authorities in Nasarawa State have arrested a woman, Hawa Sanni, in possession of dangerous weapons, alongside a two-year-old child.
She was taken into custody in Keffi, a town situated just 33 kilometers from Abuja, on Friday.
The spokesman of the command in Nasarawa, Ramhan Nansel, in a statement said that 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition were found hidden in a container of palm oil carried by the suspect.
The suspect, who is an indigene of Doro village in Katsina State, was intercepted by the police operatives while transporting the concealed ammunition.
Initial investigations indicate that the supply of ammunition was received by the suspect at Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to Nansel, the suspect was en route to Katsina State with the illicit cargo when she was nabbed.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Umar Shehu Nadada, has directed that the suspect and the recovered ammunition be transferred to the Force Intelligence Department at Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.
