Xavier Chardon Named CEO of Citroën, Begins June 2

AMSTERDAM (CHATNEWSTV) — Xavier Chardon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Citroën, Stellantis announced Monday. He will assume the role on June 2, 2025, reporting directly to Jean-Philippe Imparato, Chief Operating Officer for Stellantis’ Enlarged Europe division.

A seasoned automotive executive, Chardon brings nearly two decades of experience with the Citroën brand and a strong international background. His appointment comes as Citroën seeks to accelerate its transformation amid growing industry shifts toward electrification and digital mobility.

“Xavier Chardon will continue the momentum initiated by the brand in recent months,” Stellantis said in a statement released Monday. “His mission will be to build on Citroën’s recent successes and drive the brand’s evolution in a rapidly changing automotive landscape.”

Imparato praised the outgoing CEO, Thierry Koskas, for leading the brand through a key period of renewal. “I would like to thank Thierry Koskas for leading the Citroën brand over the last two years and for achieving its lineup renewal, most recently with the presentation of the new C5 Aircross,” he said.

On Chardon’s new role, Imparato added: “We are very pleased to welcome Xavier Chardon to the head of Citroën. His rich and diverse career, his expertise in the automotive sector and his knowledge of the brand will be valuable assets in leading Citroën towards new horizons and strengthening its unique position in the market.”

Chardon’s appointment marks a strategic move for Stellantis as it continues to position its legacy brands for long-term global competitiveness.

Stellantis N.V. (NYSE: STLA / Euronext Milan: STLAM / Euronext Paris: STLAP) is one of the world’s leading automakers, with a portfolio that includes Citroën, Peugeot, Jeep, Fiat, Chrysler, and Maserati, among others.
