PARIS (CHATNEWSTV) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a trilateral meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday at the Élysée Palace, discussing the ongoing war in Ukraine and paths to peace.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy called the meeting “good and productive,” emphasizing shared goals of ending the war in a just and timely manner.
“We all want this war to end as soon as possible and in a just way,” he wrote.
“We spoke about our people, the situation on the ground, and a just peace.”
Zelenskyy thanked Trump for his steadfastness and Macron for organizing the talks.
“President Trump is, as always, resolute. I thank him. I also extend my gratitude to Emmanuel for organizing this important meeting,” he said.
The leaders agreed to maintain close communication and continue collaborative efforts. Zelenskyy concluded his message with a note of optimism, writing, “Peace through strength is possible.”
The meeting comes amid intensified international efforts to support Ukraine in its defense against Russia and seek a resolution to the conflict that aligns with international law.
Neither Macron nor Trump immediately commented on the discussions.
