Zelenskyy’s South Africa Visit Spurs Push for Energy, Tech, Agri Deals

KYIV, Ukraine (CHATNEWSTV) — Ukrainian officials on Saturday discussed steps to implement agreements reached during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent visit to South Africa, focusing on cooperation in energy, digital technologies, and agriculture.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Brusylo chaired the virtual meeting, which brought together top representatives from the Ministries of Energy, Digital Transformation, and Agrarian Policy and Food, as well as Ukraine’s special envoy for the Middle East and Africa.

“The visit of the President of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa has opened new opportunities to expand our presence on the African continent,” Brusylo said. “Our task is to ensure the effective implementation of the agreements reached and to foster the development of economic cooperation between our countries.”

The discussion emphasized priority areas including renewable energy initiatives, digital innovation, and expanded agricultural trade. Officials highlighted several proposed joint projects designed to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Brusylo underscored the strategic importance of ties with South Africa, a G20 member and one of Ukraine’s key partners on the continent.
