Indian Prime Minister To Visit France, UAE

Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to embark on an official visit to France and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 13-15 July 2023, according to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of France, the Prime Minister will first visit Paris from 13-14 July 2023. During his stay, Prime Minister Modi will be the Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade on 14 July 2023, where a contingent of the Indian armed forces from all three branches will participate.

Formal talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Macron are scheduled, and President Macron will host a State Banquet and a private dinner in honor of the Prime Minister. Additionally, the Indian Prime Minister will hold separate meetings with the Prime Minister of France, as well as the Presidents of the Senate and the National Assembly. Prime Minister Modi will also engage with the Indian diaspora in France, meet with CEOs of Indian and French companies, and interact with prominent French personalities.

This visit holds special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the India-France Strategic Partnership. It presents an opportunity for Prime Minister Modi and President Macron to set the course for future cooperation across various sectors, including strategic, cultural, scientific, academic, and economic domains.

Following his visit to France, Prime Minister Modi will proceed to Abu Dhabi on July 15. In Abu Dhabi, he will hold talks with H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been progressively strengthening, and this visit will provide an occasion to explore avenues for further collaboration in areas such as energy, education, healthcare, food security, fintech, defense, and culture. Discussions will also encompass cooperation on global issues, particularly in light of the UAE’s Presidency of COP-28 of the UNFCCC and India’s G-20 Presidency, in which the UAE is a Special Invitee.
