Nigeria’s uLesson Joins World Economic Forum’s 2024 Technology Pioneers

Geneva, Switzerland – June 6, 2024 – The World Economic Forum (WEF) has unveiled its 2024 cohort of Technology Pioneers, with Nigeria’s uLesson Education Limited making the prestigious list. This year’s selection emphasizes the significant strides in AI and technology, with a focus on clean energy, healthcare, biotech, space, and neurotechnology.

In a statement released by the World Economic Forum on Thursday, uLesson was named as one of the 2024 cohort of Technology Pioneers. This elite group of 100 leading tech start-ups is at the vanguard of applying groundbreaking advancements in AI to forge new paths in clean energy, healthcare, biotechnology, space, and neurotechnology. These companies are poised to offer invaluable insights and expertise to the Forum’s global initiatives over the next two years, playing a pivotal role in amplifying their impact on the world stage.

uLesson, a Nigerian start-up, was recognized for its innovative approach to education, offering a comprehensive library of curriculum-aligned video lessons and quizzes for primary and secondary school students across Africa. The company’s inclusion in the Technology Pioneers cohort underscores the potential of AI to transform education and make learning more accessible.

A Global Gathering of Innovators

The 2024 cohort features start-ups from 23 countries, with a notable representation from the US, China, and India. This year, a record number of applications were received, highlighting the global entrepreneurial spirit driving technological advancement.

“The 2024 Technology Pioneers are at the forefront of industry revolution,” stated Verena Kuhn, Head of Innovator Communities at the World Economic Forum. “Their work with advanced technologies is crucial for addressing the urgent challenges we face globally. We eagerly anticipate their contributions to the Forum’s initiatives and the dynamic partnerships they will forge.”

The selected companies are trailblazers in various sectors, including space, neurotechnology, and clean technology. They are poised to offer insights and expertise that will shape the Forum’s initiatives and have a scalable impact on global issues.

The Technology Pioneers will participate in Forum meetings and discussions throughout the year, starting with the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2024 in Dalian, China. Their involvement is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the table, fostering collaboration between public and private entities.
