Curfew: Governor Mutfwang Engages Jos/Bukuru Stakeholders

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State recently held an extensive meeting with stakeholders from Jos North and Jos South local government areas. The meeting, which took place on Tuesday at the Government House in Jos, aimed to foster unity and collaboration among the communities to build a progressive and united Plateau State.

This gathering is part of the ongoing efforts to improve security and promote peaceful coexistence in the state. Discussions included the recent national protests and the curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

Governor Mutfwang urged everyone to set aside their differences and work together to create a new Plateau. He stated, “It is possible for us to build a new Plateau. We must put aside our differences and embrace each other to create a conducive working atmosphere to grow our economy. I desire that we should have a common understanding. We must collectively work to build Jos because when Jos is peaceful, the entire Plateau will be peaceful. We are trusting God that the glorious days when people came to Jos for holidays and commercial activities will return.”

Alh. Muhammadu Haruna, the Emir of Wase and Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), commended the Governor for his proactive steps to restore peace and normalcy in the state. He condemned the actions of criminal elements trying to destabilize the state, describing their actions as criminal, daylight robbery, and unacceptable.

Hon. Adamu Aliyu, representing Jos North-North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, appreciated the Governor for his commitment to peace and progress. He called on the people to support Governor Mutfwang’s administration to build lasting peace in Plateau State.

Several notable figures attended the meeting, including the Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Madaki Ajiji; Secretary to the State Government, Arc. Samuel Jatau; Chief of Staff, Hon. Jeremiah Satmak; Senator Napoleon Bali; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Philemon Daffi; and the Governor’s Adviser on Security and Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, among others.
