PARIS (France) – It was a double celebration for A’ja Wilson after the USA forward added to the second Olympic gold medal of her career by taking MVP honors at the Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.
Wilson showed why she is one of the biggest stars in the global game with another exceptional campaign. She was a dominant force in the Final, putting up 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks in the Gold Medal Game.
Gabby Williams was the inspiration behind France and their run to a dream Final on home soil. The forward added to her silver medal with the Best Defensive Player award and an All-Star Five berth after harvesting 18.8 in efficiency, 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
Alanna Smith helped Australia collect the bronze medal and posted her best-ever campaign in an Opals’ jersey with some super displays. This eventually produced 15.8 efficiency, 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per outing.
