The sacrificial ram of the Chief Imam of Mista Ali community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau, Imam Abdulkadir, has mysteriously disappeared. The ram was reported stolen during a heavy downpour on the eve of Ed-el-Kabir, Saturday night.
Malam Haruna Yaqub, a fellow Imam in the community, disclosed this incident during his sermon following the two Raka’at prayers. Yaqub condemned the act, describing it as both unfortunate and wicked on the part of the thief.
“The Ram of our Chief Imam, which he purposely bought to sacrifice, was stolen in the night,” Yaqub lamented. “We are really shocked and perplexed by the incident. We were astonished to hear this story. This means that people are not God-fearing. It is scaring that people have gone to the extent of stealing ram meant for religious activity.”
Yaqub called on the community to uphold God-fearing principles and to abstain from theft or any criminal activities. He emphasized that everyone will be held accountable for their actions in this life and the hereafter.
