President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt engaged with China’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Wang Yi, aiming to fortify the collaborative framework between the two nations. The meeting, attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, senior Chinese officials, and China’s Ambassador to Egypt, focused on enhancing joint economic development projects.
China’s Foreign Minister delivered a letter from President Xi Jinping, extending congratulations to President El-Sisi on his re-election for a new presidential term. President Xi Jinping reiterated China’s commitment to advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and commended Egypt’s role in bolstering security, stability, and development in the Middle East.
Expressing gratitude, President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s pride in its relations with China, grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. The President reaffirmed Egypt’s support for the One-China principle and expressed the country’s dedication to closer coordination for international peace and stability.
The leaders discussed strategies to strengthen joint cooperation frameworks, highlighting their commitment to ongoing economic development projects, both bilaterally and as part of their involvement in the BRICS grouping and the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
The conversation extended to regional and international affairs, particularly addressing the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli military operations. President El-Sisi stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire to protect civilians, alleviate the humanitarian crisis, and prevent further destabilization in the region.
China’s Foreign Minister concurred with Egypt’s stance, acknowledging Egypt’s significant role in both political and humanitarian realms. The leaders reviewed Egypt’s efforts in mobilizing and delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza, urging the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in line with UN resolutions.
Both Egypt and China emphasized adherence to international law and vehemently rejected forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands. They underscored the necessity for a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue, advocating for the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, aligning with resolutions of international legitimacy.
