Tragedy struck on Sunday afternoon as a mosque collapsed in the Papa Ajao area of Lagos State during afternoon prayers, with many worshippers feared dead.
According to witnesses, the structure gave way suddenly, trapping numerous individuals inside. Emergency responders and local residents swiftly moved dead and injured bodies from the rubble, with many more feared still trapped underneath.
Efforts to rescue those still trapped are ongoing, as the community grapples with the aftermath of the devastating collapse.
