Oslo, Norway (ChatnewsTV) — Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide, has strongly condemned a new wave of Russian airstrikes in Ukraine, calling the attacks an escalation of aggression against civilians and critical infrastructure. The strikes come as Ukraine approaches 1,000 days of war, with winter temperatures beginning to fall.
“As temperatures drop and Ukraine nears 1,000 days of war, Russia launched massive air strikes against civilians, seemingly targeting energy infrastructure,” Eide said in a statement released by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
“Norway condemns this illegal war and continues to stand with Ukraine, providing arms and support against Russia’s aggression.”
The airstrikes reportedly targeted key energy facilities, raising concerns over the potential impact on Ukrainian civilians as winter sets in. Eide reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to supporting Ukraine, emphasizing the nation’s ongoing military and humanitarian assistance.
“Russia’s actions are unacceptable and a blatant violation of international law,” Eide stated, highlighting Norway’s condemnation of the continued attacks on civilian targets.
Norway has been a consistent supporter of Ukraine throughout the conflict, supplying both defensive weaponry and humanitarian aid as the war stretches toward a third year.
