Presidential Election Tribunal Strikes Out Petition Filed By PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar

The presidential election petition tribunal—PEPT, has squarely dismissed some parts of the petitions filed by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party—PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar challenging President Tinubu’s victory.

Several exhibits, including witnesses’ statements tendered by the former Vice President to establish his allegations of irregularities and malpractices against the February 25 presidential election, were rejected by Justice Haruna Tsamani led five man election petition Tribunal.

While delivering judgement, Justice Moses Ugoh, ruled that several parts of Atiku’s petition have no legs upon which they can stand and survive, hence, not competent.

It however, held that several facts fundamentally required to support the petition were not provided by Atiku.
