WASHINGTON (CHATNEWSTV) — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised Kenyan President William Ruto for his country’s leadership in global and regional security during a phone call Tuesday, according to a State Department readout.
Rubio thanked Ruto for Kenya’s pivotal role in leading the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission to Haiti, emphasizing its importance in stabilizing the Caribbean nation. “Kenya’s leadership in Haiti demonstrates a strong commitment to global peace and security,” Rubio said.
The Secretary also highlighted Kenya’s contributions to regional stability in Africa.
“Kenya plays a critical role in promoting peace and security in Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo,” Rubio noted.
