MLADÁ BOLESLAV, Czech Republic – Škoda Auto on Friday announced its all-new Superb Hatch plug-in hybrid, boasting an electric range of more than 120 kilometers (WLTP). The fourth-generation model is set to launch in the second quarter of 2025, offering significant advancements in hybrid technology and sustainability.
“The Superb Hatch iV represents a significant step forward for Škoda as we continue to innovate and meet the growing demand for sustainable mobility,” said Vítězslav Kodym, head of product communications at Škoda Auto.
The new Superb Hatch iV pairs a 1.5 TSI turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined system output of 150 kW (204 horsepower). Its high-voltage battery, with a capacity of 25.7 kWh, can charge from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes at DC fast charging stations.
“This vehicle is designed not just for sustainability but also for convenience,” added Zbyněk Straškraba, Škoda spokesperson for product communications. “The ability to recharge at home in under three hours and the option for rapid charging ensure it fits seamlessly into any lifestyle.”
The Superb Hatch iV offers multiple driving modes, including E-mode for electric-only travel, Hybrid mode for efficiency, and Sport mode for enhanced performance. It also introduces updated features like second-generation LED Matrix headlights, a redesigned interior with Škoda Smart Dials, and advanced safety systems.
Škoda’s latest hybrid is aimed at delivering both everyday practicality and cutting-edge technology. Production will begin mid-2025, with availability in international markets shortly thereafter.
