Police authorities in Jigawa State have apprehended a 32-year-old man, Samuel Segun, in connection to the killing of his biological mother, Esther Adekanla, known as Hadiza Nakow, a prominent restaurateur in Dutse.
“Following the investigation, detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse, arrested the suspect opposite Awajil filling Station Dutse, in connection with the case,” stated the State Commissioner of Police, CP. AT Abdullahi.
CP Abdullahi further explained, “The suspect was arrested via tracking of the deceased phone number, which linked him to the offence.”
Recall that the lifeless body of Esther Adekanla was discovered in her residence in Dutse, sparking shock and horror within the community. Her daughter was found unconscious and locked up in a store room, adding to the grim nature of the crime.
The police swiftly launched an investigation to uncover the perpetrator behind this heinous act, leading to the arrest of Samuel Segun as a prime suspect.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are working diligently to bring justice to the family of the deceased and ensure that the perpetrator faces the full extent of the law.
