Tobi Amusan Wins Women’s 100 Meters’ Hurdles In Oregon

Trending

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the Diamond League in Eugene, Oregon, US.

Amusan triumphed with a stunning time of 12.33 seconds, outpacing Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quin, who finished in 12.38 seconds.

The achievement marked her third consecutive Diamond League championship.

American Kendra Harrison finished third in the race.

In 2021, the Nigerian made history with her first Diamond Federation Cup with a record of 12.42 seconds.

She then landed in 12.29 seconds in Zurich last year.

The 27-year-old’s latest achievement comes months after the Nigerian was suspended by the Athletics Integrity Union—AIU for doping violations.

According to the AIU, she failed three tests in 12 months.

However, she was later cleared of any wrongdoing, just three days before the 2023 World Athletics Championships.

She was unable to defend her title in Budapest, finishing sixth in the final at the National Athletics Center in Budapest, Hungary.
