MACAU (China), October 21, 2024 (ChatnewsTV) — Serbian powerhouse Ub Huishan NE continued their dominant run this season, defeating Paris 21-16 to claim victory in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Macau Masters on Sunday.
Ub, who now holds four stop wins this season, showcased their strength once again after a victory last week in Amsterdam. Led by offensive star Strahinja Stojacic, the Serbian team went undefeated in Macau, including a decisive win over Riffa (BRN) in the semifinals.
Paris, on the other hand, found their stride after an early pool play loss, making a strong push to the final. The highly anticipated matchup featured two teams known for their offensive firepower.
Paris gained an early advantage in the paint, while Ub relied on perimeter shooting, with Marko Brankovic sinking a crucial two-pointer. Paris guard Antoine Suhard responded with his own deep shots, keeping the French team competitive.
Both teams traded baskets in a physical contest that saw early foul trouble. Key contributions from Dejan Majstorovic and Brankovic helped Ub pull ahead 8-4. However, timely shots from Paris’ Franck Seguela evened the score at 10-10 midway through the game.
With just over three minutes remaining, Ub inched ahead through free throws and a clutch two-pointer from Stojacic, giving them an 18-14 lead. In the final moments, Stojacic, nicknamed “Dr. Strange,” sealed the game with a crafty bucket in the paint, handing Ub the 21-16 win.
Stojacic finished the tournament with 42 points, the highest of any player, and a Player Value of 56.2, earning him yet another MVP award in what has been a standout season.
In other contests, Riffa’s Thibaut Vervoort set a new 3×3 shootout record, scoring 18 points to win the shootout contest, while Dengxing “Dunk King” Chen claimed victory in the Wilson dunk contest.
