Berlin – RB Leipzig have signed 19-year-old defender Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season, the Bundesliga club said on Monday.
The deal includes a purchase option.
“I knew that I wanted to take this opportunity because as a club, they prioritize young players and give them an opportunity to develop. 2024 wasn’t the best year for me, which is why I’m eager to show what I’m capable of here,” Nedeljkovic said.
A second young talent joined Leipzig on Monday as 18-year-old winger Tidiam Gomis joined the German team from Ligue 2 side SM Caen and signed a contract until 2029.
“We have been working on this transfer for months and after reaching an agreement with him, have decided to bring him to Leipzig this winter already. It gives us an additional option in attack and will also provide Tidiam with the time to settle in,” board member for sport Marcel Schäfer said.
Leipzig also said that forward André Silva will spend the rest of the season on loan at Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen.
The 29-year-old has been at RB Leipzig since summer 2021 and has featured in 15 competitive games for Marco Rose’s side this season (one goal, three assists)
